I just like this shot: Kilian update

Young man, young man. We have been trying to ween you for a year now of your crying fits. No slight is too small, no toy too important for you to break down and fall to the floor and start crying.

At first we thought it was sign of your age, or terrible twos, or threes, or any age that is alliterative with "terrible." But you don't react in anger, just someone-singed-my-feet crying.

So we have tried cajoling you not to cry, asking you to use your words, giving you time outs, ignoring it, and various other techniques that don't seem to be having any effect.

We don't want to teach you not to cry when appropriate, but when to figure out what is appropriate, and that is hard for you to figure out and for us to teach you.

But we will continue trying.

During my one-on-one with your teachers, they said that you were making progress because of your exposure to the older four- and five-year olds in your class.

Montessori is a good thing.
